They begin with decent cotton blends and finish with the polyester material that leaves you sweating after you have waited for coffee. But, you’ll definitely pay more for those piece and they use better fabrics yet.

Last month, I ordered this gorgeous emerald green dress from Boohoo for a friend’s wedding (okay fine, I don’t have many friends, but a girl can dream). When it arrived, the color was spot-on, but the fabric felt like something from my elementary school Halloween costume.

While these synthetic materials look great at first, they often pill, stretch out and eventually lose their shape after just a few washes. Had to pay less now, but replace more often.

You know that moment when you’re trying on a new outfit and hear that dreaded riiiiip sound? Yeah, that’s happened to me with Boohoo more times than I care to admit.

In early 2026, Boohoo announced they were improving their manufacturing standards, and I’ve noticed some positive changes. The stress points have been reinforced with stitch and the seam is improved.
However, their budget lines are still short on production.
The construction on their new work collection jeans and blazer I bought recently though, is a night and day difference. The blazer had even stitching, clean and was fully lined in the pockets (miracle), the jeans began breaking down at the hem the second day, literally.

In 2025 we can’t talk about fast fashion without bringing up sustainability. They have tried to make some effort with their recycled line and carbon offset shipping, but it’s a fast fashion company with the environmental consequences that come.
Boohoo might not be the first place you think of for sustainable clothing, but if you are conscious about your fashion footprint, then their sustainable collection is better than their standard lines, but there are so many other eco friendly brands out there if that’s your priority.

The secret to Boohoo shopping is knowing where the quality pieces hide. Generally, their collaborations with designers and influencers are in better construction than their usual lines. They also have managed to consistently improve their premium denim and workwear collections in 2026.
Generally, items with product descriptions containing the composition of the fabric are of better quality.
Mixed fibers are usually a red flag.

Boohoo runs sales constantly, we’re talking 30-60% off almost every week. Pay no full price. While their flash sales have the best discounts, seasonal sales are their bread and butter and their current Spring 2025 clearance is their biggest seasonal sale yet.

It is beautiful that Boohoo enables you to try your hand at trends without wasting much money.
However, don’t expect it to become a wardrobe staple.
