Most Inspirational Celebrities of 2026

When it comes to inspirational celebrities walking the walk when it comes to environmentalism, Billie Eilish is in a class all her own. The Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, Let’s chat about a thing I know to be true: inspiration is all around in 2026 , you just have to look. It’s not fitting a picture into a perfectly laid out grid, and it’s not a sponsored post that’s being marketed as a life update. It is the celebrities who chose to take on the platform instead of making it an option. Some of them are out here doing the kind of work that gets you to put your phone down, look up at the ceiling, and go, ok, maybe I should do something after all. The most inspirational celebrities these days are not the ones who have the most fans or the highest movie contracts. It is they who are using their fame as a weapon , and pointing it at a worthy target.

And honestly? A refreshing twist around the plot of what celebrity culture was like.

What Inspiration Actually Means in 2026

Let’s lay some groundwork before we discuss names. This concept of “inspirational celebrity” has undergone a dramatic transformation over the past few years. It once referred to someone who was able to speak well at an award ceremony or dress up in a red carpet. Post one graphic. Get praised. Move on.

Now that’s not happening anymore.

The Gen Z generation has a definite sense of performance to action. We have been raised to see people say something good and actually do nothing. We’ve experienced the black square moment. We’ve seen the charity posts that are deleted as the algorithm shifts to the next post. In 2026, it’s not just about achievement; it’s about authenticity that inspires people. It’s appearing on a consistent basis, even if it’s not trending. It’s living the life of what you say you believe in, behind the things you say you care about.

Inspiration in 2026 is like a celebrity saying “I don’t have it all figured out. It appears as though someone has taken their tour on mission mode and made it an environmental blueprint. It’s as if it’s a person who’s using a crisis phone line on Instagram but really, really, really means it for kids of the LGBTQ+ community to survive the week. That’s the bar. And honestly? Others are doing a great job of clearing it.

The Real Ones: A 2026 Rundown

Billie Eilish , Building a Blueprint, Not Just a Brand

which recently concluded after 14 months touring in 15 countries, marked a first for the music industry; a tour that was truly sustainable, yet essentially a pop concert.

The tour covered four continents, included reusable water bottles, recycled T-shirts and venue signage with climate change statistics on the impact of normal behavior. Eilish’s team collaborated with Google Maps to ensure fans can travel to the shows by public transport and with venues to ensure there are plant-based food concessions available. The report, from the nonprofit Reverb, shows over 30 venues started or grew environmental projects with Eilish and her team.

Then she put her money where her mouth was, in the most literal of senses. In 2025, Billie Eilish gave $11.5 million from tour income to organizations that work to tackle issues of climate action and food access, and in January 2026, she was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Beloved Community Environmental Justice Award in Atlanta.

What Billie has to her credit that is different from all the celebrities who put a recycling symbol on their endorsement is that she has been doing it since she was a teenager and had much less influence. She’s been challenging the complacency of the music industry for years and that’s because she cares, not for her image. She has always believed that having a lot of power doesn’t necessarily mean having a lot of consumers, and refuses to let the “use paper straws” discussion take the place of that.

What a level of structural thinking from a pop star!

Selena Gomez , Turning Personal Pain Into a Public Good

There is a mental health advocacy that celebrities indulge in — they talk about it once, get applause, and then never mention it again. Selena Gomez isn’t that celebrity.

Gomez is also the founder of Wondermind, a mental health media company that aims to encourage people to explore, discuss and navigate their emotions, and the founder of the Rare Impact Fund, a dedicated fund that has a goal of raising $100 million over ten years to provide mental health resources and support to people.

There’s an ecosystem behind it that makes it so much more inspiring than just being well-branded. As her Vice President of Social Impact says, this is a mental health strategy that’s more than just a philanthropic fund that a brand contributes to,it’s a 360° lens on mental health, with advocacy, community and education being woven throughout.

Bipolar disorder is an open secret to Selena, and the confusion and strength it brought her. She didn’t just tell a story, she created infrastructure around it for others to go when they’re in need. That’s a whole other level of effort and it doesn’t just deserve to be called that, it has to be.

Olivia Rodrigo , Activism at 23, No Apologies

There is something about Olivia Rodrigo that I really like; she doesn’t wait until it’s safe to say something. She doesn’t say that the right thing the right way in a PR-friendly fashion. She just… speaks. In 2026, she’s Corrected that energy into something really structural.

During her GUTS tour, Rodrigo collaborated with local advocacy groups to get free emergency contraceptives and raise money for abortion rights. She challenged the Department of Homeland Security for their racist, hateful propaganda using her song “All-American Bitch” against undocumented immigrants , and received no response when they protested. Her approach to activism has been emphasized in interviews, where she views it as an integral part of being an artist: “Artists are supposed to reflect the world around them as honestly as possible, and activism is part of that.

And then, just this week , yes, as this piece is being written , Olivia Rodrigo announced their all-new all-female music festival, Daisy Chain Fields, in Irvine, CA, on August 29 featuring an all-female lineup of Chappell Roan, Doechii, Bikini Kill and more. The net proceeds from the festival will go to helping non-profits advance and promote the rights of women and girls everywhere.

The festival will mobilize financial support for reproductive rights, Indigenous health, domestic worker protection and prevention of gender based violence groups.

She’s 23. Her third record, the first of which went to number one, just came out. In her free time, she’s planning a women and girl benefit festival. I don’t want to say I feel bad about myself, but I do say she’s setting a bar.

Pedro Pascal , Consistency Over Clout

Look, a lot of celebrities “support the LGBTQ+ community” by posting a rainbow throughout Pride Month and that’s it. Pedro Pascal is not a one of those celebrities.

Then, in February 2025, he got the attention of the world when he called anti-trans trolls “vile and pathetic. He called on people to resist fear-mongering and defend the rights of immigrants during the Cannes Film Festival in May 2025. When the federal government sought to phase out the LGBTQ+ focused branch of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, Pascal didn’t simply sign a letter and go about his day. He then went to Instagram to spread the word about the end of the program, directly shared The Trevor Project’s crisis resources and actively fundraised to bridge that gap of care for LGBTQ+ youth without support.

He was also one of over a 100 celebrities who signed an open letter to Congress and the administration calling for federal funding for LGBTQ+ youth suicide prevention programs.

The one thing that is notable about Pedro is that he is consistent. He’s not doing it at a time of his own choosing, or because of the press cycle. Then when he really needs it most, he’s doing it , a much greater challenge to keep up. He’s outspoken about his own experience with anxiety since childhood, has been open about his mother dying by suicide at the age of 24, and the emotional burden of roles such as Joel from The Last of Us. Combined with his loud boasting about his allyship, he’s one of the most inspiring celebrities in Hollywood right now, and one of the few male celebrities who has merit to his side.

Zendaya , Authenticity as a Superpower

Well, there are celebrity inspirers who do extraordinary things and then there are celebrity inspirers who are extraordinarily themselves. It’s a rare combination for Zendaya who ends up in both categories.

In 2022, Time also named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world, writing that she is “an autonomous creative force… a person driven by pure inspiration, empathy and respect for her craft, who uses authenticity as a new superpower.

However, Zendaya has always been a champion for amplifying what is important beyond the accolades. She has collaborated with The Trevor Project, spoken out about mental health and wellness for the LGBTQ+ community, and has been a voice that raised younger activists. She has been candid about her own anxiety, and about her conviction in therapy,a time when it wasn’t cool to talk about. She’s made a conscious effort to use all-black creative teams & Black designers at high-profile events, not as some talking point, but as a steady, quiet shift in industry attention towards designers that are often overlooked.

And, of course, Zendaya herself has been consistent in saying that she’s not really an activist because she knows activism is a way of life, not a label slapped on a celebrity. In reality, it is more valuable, and a rarer breed, than people who don’t hesitate to use the title.

A Word From itismandystyle: Not Everyone Who Posts Deserves the Crown

Well, I can’t help myself here, because truthfully, I can’t. While there are plenty of celebrities who are doing great things in the world, there are five times as many celebrities who are doing activism like it’s a content strategy.

You know the type. Those who post the infographics in the news cycle and keep quiet when the algorithm shifts. The ones who talk about an issue without specifying any subject, donating any money, and solving any problems. Those who do all their charity work around a single gala and take an award for that.

Ideas don’t have a feel. It’s a verb. It involves showing up at the right place, at the right time, when no one else is around; investing in the causes you say you are passionate about; and saying the thing you know you shouldn’t when no one else is paying attention. That’s what the celebrities on this list do. I want us, as a pretty good generation at spotting inauthenticity, to keep that up.

Not all “celebrities” who claim to be advocates are legitimate. Don’t make posting an act of activism. Going in does not equal advocacy. The bar is not the applause, it’s the work that follows.

Why This Matters for Us

Why I care about writing something like this, in all honesty. We are a cynical generation and with good reason. We’ve seen systems go down. We’ve seen leaders fail us. However, cynicism without inspiration is merely exhaustion in fancy words.

The most inspirational celebrities of 2026 have significance because they show that power and its use for reality is still possible. They prove that fame can be filled. They tell us that a platform is nothing more than a loudspeaker, it’s what you put in it that matters.

Selena’s making it a point to prove that personal struggle can be translated into public good. Billie’s pointing us to the fact that you can change your entire industry into one that is accountable. Olivia’s demonstrating to us that it’s never too late to stand up for yourself. On the worst day, not the best, is the day of Pedro’s allyship. Zendaya is demonstrating that being yourself is really transformative for her and for all of us.

No celebrities are needed to save us. But we can let them inspire us, we can let the ones who deserve it, the ones who’ve earned that word, let them inspire us.

Now in 2026, the ones on this list definitely have.
